Accompanied goods lift: compliance with safety standards.

Following on from an initial quotation for an unaccompanied goods lift submitted to a firm of architects, we presented them with the accompanied goods lift version. This means that their client’s authorised user will be able to travel to the different floors of the building, accompanying the load inside the lift car.

Consequently, in this case, various measures are adopted to ensure the safety of persons. On completion of the installation and before the equipment is put into service, an inspection body will have to carry out its acceptance inspection. The checks will cover, in particular, the following points:

  • effective locking of the platform at each level. Atlas Lift fits its goods lifts with electromechanical locks that ensure maximum safety. Most competitors offer only a re-levelling system, which inspection bodies may call into question in the light of the wording of the standards.
  • locking of the access doors by an electromechanical lock interlocked with the operation and position of the goods lift.
  • lighting of the lift car while the equipment is in motion.

Committed to the safety of people and their surroundings, Atlas Lift’s regional offices, located throughout the regions, will work with you to define the best technical solution to suit your needs.
